(2) In the blog post referenced above, the blogger quotes Rachel Jones, lead author of the Guttmacher Institute study that gave rise to the "statistic", as saying “If we had included women up to age 89, we would have probably found a lower proportion had ever used artificial contraception,” said Jones. “But the policies being implemented right now are ones that don’t effect them...." Since the blogger, Sarah Kliff (I think) says she called Ms. Jones, I must assume that the grammatical error is hers. It certainly effected me away from the rest of the article. Jean carping here.
